As
with all other joints on the body, your TMJ (temporomandibular joint)
can produce complexities that can become very troublesome or even
serious. Being one of the more complicated joints on your body,
the TMJ is responsible for a large portion of your lower facial
activity. This joint is located in front of your ears and is the
connection between your lower jawbone (the mandible) and skull.
Its intricacies make it more difficult to diagnose and treat; however,
vast advances have been made regarding the treatment and care of
the TMJ.
Symptoms
As mentioned before, this joint is responsible for or plays a role
in many of the movements in your face, having direct effect with
any and all actions you take with your mouth and jaw. Pain and/or
a “clicking” sensation in the jaw are the more common
signs of TMJ Disorder. Saying this, other symptoms of this disorder
include lockjaw, earaches, dizziness, and even headaches. If you
